Would you like know the inspiration behind our great line of teas?
It comes from our Great-Grand Aunt, Fannie Olivia Parker-Donaldson, who lived to be 100 years of age and attributed her longevity to her special blend of teas.
Here's some of her story:
Fannie Olivia Parker-Donaldson was born March 22, 1901 and raised in Womack Hill, Alabama-Choctaw County.
Aunt Fannie had a strong belief in the power of herbal healing she developed from her heritage. So, she spent her life educating herself, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama State College and later becoming an herbalist. Some considered her an environmentalist because her research often benefitted so many areas of life.
She dedicated her life to creating special blends of tea to assist in healing various ailments for her family,friends and the community.
Aunt Fannie spent some time in Detroit, eight years to be exact. She was here to make war materials for World War II, shortly after getting married. So, we also have the Detroit connection as well- yes!
In 2001, Aunt Fannie reached a great milestone of living to be 100 years of age. What a wonderful thing to have a centenarian in the family, willing to share her secret to good health!
She was recognized, at the time, by The White House, George and Laura Bush, Don Siegelman, Governor of Alabama, Hank Sanders, Alabama Senator, Wade Gann, Tuscumbia Mayor, Richard Shelby U.S Senator, Jeff Sessions, U.S Senator, Sonny Callahan, U.S House of Representatives, and Willard Scott, NBC News (The Today Show).
